Avisado o cockpit o comandante achou (muito bem) que deveria declarar emergência e regressar ao ponto de partida. Entretanto foi detetado um incêndio numa bagagem de mão colocada na bagageira. Tripulação de cabine extinguiu o fogo com recurso a um extintor de bordo. Após a aterragem os bombeiros de Gatwick inspecionaram o avião e determinaram que o fogo teve origem na bateria de um cigarro eletrónico. Habitualmente estes casos de thermal runaway da bateria são causados por excesso de carga ou pelo uso de carregadores comprados no mercado paralelo. Evitem, por favor. Um dia isto pode acabar em tragédia
